Upcoming Training Opportunity:
Mark your calendars now! The Fourth Annual Meeting of the West Virginia Master Naturalists will be held at Davis & Elkins College August 16 - 18, 2013.
The final headcount for the 2012 Annual Meeting was 69 students and 11 instructors and staff. A good time was apparently had by all! Thanks to all of you who helped to make this year's meeting the best so far, and thanks especially to the following people:
Andy Dalton who chaired the Annual Meeting Committee.
The members of the Annual Meeting Committee: Jim Fregonara, Tommy Zeitz, Russ McClain, and Jim Van Gundy.
Vivian Yeager of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources who provided secretarial support for the meeting.
Class schedules for 2013 for the following chapters are now available on the "Master Naturalist Training" page of this website:
• Canaan Valley
• Kanawha Valley
• Ohio Valley
• Monongahela Valley
Since it was first launched, this website has had a "PHOTO GALLERY" page, accessible through the "Site Features" menu. There is now a new feature to this page that you might want to check out. Since this website is hosted by Yahoo, we can link to the FLICKR photo-sharing site (also a Yahoo web service) at no extra charge. Clicking on the FLICKR box at the bottom of the Photo Gallery page will allow you to access any of the thousands of photos on the FLICKR site that use the word "nature" as a tag. Try it out.
We recently discovered that the link that supposedly allowed members to submit their own photos to the PHOTO GALLERY page was not working properly. That has now been fixed so we would again like to encourage any member of the West Virginia Master Naturalist community to submit their own favortite photos for display on this website. We apologize to anyone who had submitted a photo and it was not posted.
Learning and Networking Opportunities:

The News and Notes page is intended to serve as a place where West Virginia Master Naturalists can share information and learn what is happening in other Master Naturalist groups, both within the state and nationwide. Items for inclusion on this page may be submitted by any member of the West Virginia Master Naturalist community.
